The Law on Commercial Arbitration was promulgated by Royal Kram No. NS/RKM/0506/010, dated 05 May 2006. This Royal Kram was issued by His Majesty the King of Cambodia following adoption by the National Assembly, thereby giving the Law its full legal force and effect throughout the Kingdom of Cambodia. The Law on Commercial Arbitration of the Kingdom of Cambodia was enacted to facilitate the impartial and prompt resolution of commercial disputes in accordance with the wishes of the parties, to safeguard the legal rights and interests of the parties involved, and to promote the sound development of the economy. It provides a legal framework for resolving commercial disputes through arbitration, allowing the parties to agree on arbitration procedures and minimizing court intervention except as provided under the Law. The Law supports alternative dispute resolution in commercial matters, enhances legal certainty, and contributes to creating a business environment that is predictable and aligned with international practices.
